Technology really can make a difference

We love our furry friends, and we especially love it when charities talk about their aspirations to use technology to help make a difference in the world.

They’re really up against it at Perthshire Abandoned Dogs Society (PADS).

Their location is very rural and they suffer with low quality broadband.

Despite this PADS is doing incredible work to rehome dogs in need.

We talked to Joanna High from PADS to learn more about their work.

“We don’t just let anyone come in and take a dog,” she told us.

“We use a system of matchmaking to ensure the dog is going to a loving home that understands that individual dog’s needs.”

This particular system of matchmaking, which mostly uses old fashioned written down data, is critical, as it ensures that each dog goes to the perfect home.

We’d love to help them upgrade this system with a technological one, which is why we’re bringing attention to them in this episode.

The dogs

PADS has a number of dogs they’re currently trying to help find homes for.

Any dog they help re-home will have a chance at a much better life thanks to the care being taken by PADS to ensure the right dog gets the right home.

Of course, it’s not easy for them running PADS, and they rely heavily on donations.

This is why Mark Riddell and the team at m3 Networks have chosen to use this episode of Techcess to highlight their great work as a Perthshire business.

They’ve got aspirations to upgrade their technology to help in their work for our furry best friends. But they can’t meet those aspirations without help.

Feeling the festive spirit? Why not gift someone with a donation in their name?

This episode has been produced during the Christmas period, so we thought what better time than to ask you to spare a thought for someone more in need than yourself.

So if you feel like giving something, we know PADS will be very grateful.

Perhaps you know someone who can help PADS to take their next step in their great journey? Please do share the episode with them.
