If you have been following our social media (@m3networks), you will have recently seen our posts about an upcoming event – our Cyber Security Breakfast. This isn’t the first cyber security breakfast; in fact, our past cyber breakfast in Dundee went so well, we just had to bring it to Perth!
This event will be in partnership with the Royal Bank of Scotland, who are kindly providing tea/coffee and breakfast rolls for attendees. We will be delving into presentations about fraud, the current threats posed to SMEs, and the steps businesses, like yours, should be taking to meet the UK governments minimal cyber security requirements.
We will start the morning with breakfast and an opportunity for some networking. For those not familiar with us, a brief introduction to m3 Networks, our journey so far and our cyber security background.
Our first presentation will discuss the current threats; we shall share real-life stories of cyber attacks that happened to unsuspecting SMEs due to lack of adequate protection. To follow, shall be takeaway tips on simple immediate cyber protection, to give our guests a head start.
There will be a focus on the Cyber Essentials certification which is the government backed scheme which ensures that businesses are protected against the most common cyber threats. With a certification approved by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), you can reduce your risk of cyber attack by 80%.
As well as learning how to protect yourself, you will also find out how your business can claim up to £1,000 towards Cyber Essentials certification.
